Need sheet music? Can't remember schedules, times, etc for rehearsals and concerts? This is the place to be!

For those who aren't accustomed to playing in a group or ensemble, here are some helpful tips to help you get ready:

1) Arrive 10-15 minutes early to get set up, tuned, use bathroom, and find your seat.

2) Bring a pencil to every rehearsal and have it with you at your seat.  Your pencil is your best friend.  Be a good friend.

3) Instrument cases should be placed away from the rehearsal space, on the edge of the room when possible to prevent tripping.  Nobody wants to step on an errant flute, violin, or music director.

4) If you don't have music, ask to share with someone who does - stand partners are your friend.  Bring it next week and maybe you can be the helper for someone!

5) LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN.  During rehearsal but also at home.  Check out a recording of the music at home and often - it will help you understand your part better.

6) Plastic covers might be helpful to corral and transport music, but it creates glare under bright lights.  Plastic covers also make writing notes very difficult and time consuming.  Consider attaching directly to binder via 3 ring hole punch, a hybrid system, or investing in large tablet / computerized system for long term development.  See the director or experienced members for specific recommendations.
